EDUx 2012 International
Education Conference

If we teach today's students as we taught yesterday's,
we rob them of tomorrow. -------- John Dewey

THE IDEA

The 21st century education revolution is underway, and being led by the new international wave of digital technology.

Why and how has digital technology become the central player of the revolution in education? In the high speed train of the global digital education revolution, how does Taiwan cut in and play an important role? This is one of the most important battles Taiwan faces in nurturing talent and competing in the international scence. This is the core mission of the EDUx 2012 International Education Forum.

Looking to the Future
We hope that the international education community, especially in Asia, will understand that Taiwan is a leading country in education innovation through our hosting of this education forum. When they talk about education issues, we do not want them to ignore or exclude the contributions of Taiwan.

In the future, we'll also sponsor Asian education forums and assemble the Asian countries education technology club, and we'll assist Taiwan in obtaining leadership in education innovation.

Advances in computer technology, digital and multimedia technology, interactive applications, online games, and other tools will have a significant impact on traditional education. They will make learning more interesting and more efficient. Powerful new data processing technologies let us track in real-time student learning strengths and weaknesses, student participation, effectiveness, and assessment. The in-depth understanding made possible by this will lead to a permanent change in the traditional methods of education. Learning will no longer be limited by age, but instead depend on the learning progress of each child - each child learns content at his own pace.

In this unit, we invited both foreign and domestic experts and scholars from research and application of digital technology in education to share their latest research results and practical experience.
